The most important - great and stunning location by the owner at the communal eating area. And just off the center of Kyoto, roughly 10-15min walk from the main train station as well as the more traditional areas. Large, huge rooms and modern amenities.

The room was beautifully decorated and extremely pleasant and with beautiful decoration. We had a great view of the garden and a lovely bed. The location was exceptionally nice and unbeatable for exploring Kyoto. We dined at an excellent nearby restaurant with Japanese dishes;)))

High quality food, wonderful and traditional breakfast. Location just off Kyoto in the first place, another metro station and local attractions.

I was upgraded to a large and extremely pleasant room in front of the beautiful private garden. The hotel was in an amazing location close enough to the central railway station, and several landmarks. Had brunch in the Premier Bar, located nearby.

The traditional ryokan was located in a quiet neighborhood, within an easy 10-minute walk from the main Kyoto station. It was conveniently close to many attractions of Kyoto. The communal eating area provided a unique experience of watching the chef prepare an exquisite seven-course meal, using fresh ingredients sourced that morning. The private baths in the common area were a soothing retreat after a long day of sightseeing. The rooms were spacious and clean, with attention to detail in the amenities provided. The friendly and helpful staff made the stay even more enjoyable.

While the price was slightly high, considering the mostly vegetable-based ingredients used in the meals, the overall experience and quality of the facilities made up for it.

There is nothing fake about this ryokan: a genuinly old Japanese traditional building. Excellent craftsmanship. Triple filtered light. Japanese Breakfast in the room. Thin futon on tatami floor. Very sober interior (to western standards). Shared bath and toilet. Etc... Walking distance from the train station.

No real lobby, so no interaction with the other guests. And the staff is somewhat stiff (maybe a language barrier language). So it is entirely up to you and your company to entertain itself.
